Very nice and calm place near to seeshore and surf schools. The staff is very friendly, always willing to help. Many additional activities are organised in the hostel to integrate guests, movie night, Tuesdays with taco, a trip to the eco farm and it's all free or for a nominal fee. A big advantage is that it is also very clean, and guests have at their disposal two kitchens equipped with all the necessary stuff and spices. I stayed in a hostel for 7 days and I remember my stay very well with a clear conscience I recommend it to every wave enthusiast. I hope to come back here again someday 🏄🏼‍♀️🤙

La Ventana Azul ist ein tolles Surf Hostel mit einer perfekten Lage direkt am Meer! Das Hostel ist super geräumig, hat eine tolle Dachterrasse und ist sauber. Man kommt easy mit Leuten ins Gespräch und durch die Hostel Aktivitäten wie Beachvolleyball oder Taco Tuesday entsteht ein richtig tolles Gemeinschaftsgefühl. Ich habe mich direkt wohlgefühlt und würde jederzeit wiederkommen!

Vine de solo trip y la experiencia ha sido increíble. Desde el primer día me sentí muy cómoda en el hostel y se creó un grupo muy chulo.
Las voluntarias han sido geniales y siempre pendientes de que todo fuese bien. Un 10! He disfrutado muchísimo haciendo surf, descubriendo la naturaleza y haciendo paseos y actividades que han hecho que la experiencia fuese todavía mejor.
Lo recomiendo 100%!!!!!

I stayed at La Ventana Azul Hostel for most of August, and I had a really good experience.
The hostel is very well organized and kept clean throughout the day, thanks to the volunteers who regularly take care of the common areas.
One of the best things is the location: that is less than 1 minute walk from the ocean, which is perfect if you love spending time at the beach or surfing.

The hostel also organizes different activities, such as Taco Tuesday and Pancake Sunday on the rooftop. These are a great way to meet other guests and socialize, especially during the low season when the hostel isn’t completely full.
The rooftop is definitely one of the highlights of the hostel. It’s a great place to cook, relax, enjoy the view, and hang out with other people. Another big plus is the hostel’s proximity to the surf school.

There is also a hostel group on WhatsApp where all the information about surf lessons, dates, and schedules is shared and regularly updated, which makes everything very easy to organize.

La Ventana Azul is a great place to stay if you’re looking for a relaxed, social atmosphere, close to the ocean and with plenty of opportunities to meet people and surf.

The hostel and community is great!

Good:

1. Friendly staff and Paul (manager) is very helpful, staying on the line at all times to assist and was taking care of all enquiries at absolutely no time.

2. Service - I think you guys nailed it, I saw the staff being trained and overall the journey from booking to check out looks very systematic.

3. Close to the ocean - you spend no time to go surfing / swimming or find food - lots of places around. Staff gives you hints.

4. My room had 2 windows, so I slept with ocean sound - the best white noise you can get!
Although the hostel is in restaurants area the ones that around close quite early so I got zero disturbance from the street.
Note though that not all the rooms have windows so booking in advance might be a good idea.

5. Overall community effect is great, you get people form all over the world - I like how this hostel created this environment.

6. You get all sorts of side evens like Taco night or movie night.
The nicest one was a visit to the eco farm run by the same community that owns this hostel! Loved it!

Bad

Cannot really think of any thing that was bad.

Things might be put for a wait list to improve:

- Electronic lock - I don’t like taking a key with me on the beach.
- some shower locks were broken but I’m sure staff is aware
- I’d love to see more organise trips over the island next time - I’m sure all guests will appreciate it!

Me sentí despreciado como chicharrero por no hablar inglés y no estar en el mundo del
Surf siendo un negocio de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria no es mi tierra pero si mis islas Canarias no especifican la entrada al hostal siendo a la 15:00 la entrada en la página tardaron en darme la llave,la toalla y decirme que los champús eran comunes para todos me sentí despreciado y decepcionado por el personal que trabaja allí

I really enjoyed my stay here! The hostel has a lovely atmosphere and feels very welcoming and homely. The location is fantastic, right by the beach, and there are plenty of activities to do and it really easy to meet other travellers. The common areas are also well kept and clean. Overall, a great choice if you’re looking for a friendly place to stay!
