Recomendado 100%
First off all - thank you! I am writting reviews on rare ocassions and this is one of these times! On the Camino from Porto we were choosing the hotels, hostels and albergues based on the recommendations and reviews. We thought we were lucky and got what we expected most of the time, but this overnight stay exceeded our expectations! First of all, very warm and friendly family, who made almost everything with their own hands. Second, they offered to pick us up from the main Camino road which is ~1.5km off. They served homemade dinner, which can be ordered upon arrival. And the last, but not least.. the breakfast was superb! Ussualy in hostels and albergues, tosts, fruits, syrials, juices, sometimes cheese is served. Coffee on rare occasions, sometimes is free and sometimes it’s not. Here they had everything mentioned above plus fresh made croissants 🥐 and a coffee mashine! All the best 🙏
This place is lovely. So welcoming, beautiful home, perfectly clean. It truly added to the hard earned reward of our spiritual side quest of the camino. If you want to feel love, this is the place for you.
What a wonderful stay I had here!
After a long and tiring seven hour walk from Puentesampaio on the Camino, the lovely host was incredibly kind and gracious and helped me out so much. When I asked her about the daily blessing for the pilgrims down at the monastery in Armenteira, she offered to drop me off and pick me up from the monastery after the blessing.
This was incredibly helpful to a weary pilgrim and it came from the goodness of her own heart.
Thank you very much much!
Muchas gracias!
❤️❤️❤️
Lovely hosts and accommodation! Was very warm and welcoming.
Be very careful about price changes and high rates once you commit.
I was a pilgrim, arriving on foot in Armenteira. After getting to town, I phoned owners of this place questioning if they had a bed or a room available, they said they had a room available, I just needed to come. After I arrived at the hostel, the owner was evasive about the price, then said it was 30 euros for a room for the night. I questioned if the price would change if another person joined me in the room, he said no. He took me to another house that he said was on the Variante Espiritual marks (it was 2 km away). Then he said no groceries were available nearby on foot, but he could come back latter with ingredients or dinner, and would charge a bit for that. 2 hours later, after the other person arrived, he said he was coming. He arrived 7 pm and completely changed the prices. 8 euros for a package of pasta that I had to cook. More 30 euros for the room because a second person was on it. And 8 euros for a salad with only lettuce, onion and tomato. As we had nowhere else to go and it was dark, we had to accept most of his demands. In the end, he got more than double the amount he initially told me would cost.
Next morning, I had to walk the additional 2 kilometers to return to the route.
