Wow too much I can say about the hostel all good. It's deffo one of the best hostels iv stayed at very relaxed atmosphere all staff so kind helpful polite I'd recommend it to anyone it's a place of peace of mind star ratings.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The house that is so clean and comfortable all the staffs here are friendly, giving us help and support when we needed
If you want a hostel that feels like a community, book this place immediately. The daily events are amazing and make it so easy to meet people, whether you're solo or in a group. The staff and guests were all fantastic. Easily one of the best social atmospheres I've experienced, I'll definitely be back! :)
I booked a bed on the 16th at 5pm with arrival on the 17th, and had to cancel at 4:30am due to an emergency that prevented me from catching my flight. Less than 12 hours had passed since booking, mostly overnight.
The staff were polite and genuinely tried to resell the bed. They couldn't, no one booked in. To their credit, they refunded one night and offered a complimentary BBQ for a future stay. I appreciate the gesture, but a future discount at a place I don't know if or when I'll visit again isn't the same as a fair resolution now.
I offered a compromise: keep the first night as a real cancellation cost, refund the remaining two. This was declined.
Here's what I find unfair: my cancellation caused no financial loss, the bed wasn't resold regardless and it 's not because of me. And I cancelled within hours of booking, not after weeks. Yet the full charge stands.
The owner explained their position, but I disagree with the underlying logic: a policy that charges you in full no matter when and why you cancel, and regardless of whether any actual loss occurred, protects the hostel entirely while leaving the guest with no recourse.
The place may well be lovely. But if anything goes wrong with your travel plans, know that you're on your own.
Good morning Nicolò,
I appreciate the polite and respectful way you communicated with us, even though you disagreed with how we handled the situation. I'd like to explain again the circumstances and the reasoning behind our decisions.
1) Booking Policy: You booked through a third-party platform ( Hostelworld.com) instead of directly with us, and the cancellation policy was clearly stated on the website: cancellations made within 72 hours of check-in are non-refundable. In your case, the amount you paid was retained according to that policy, with part of it going to the hostel and part to the booking platform. Had you booked directly with us, we would have required a deposit for only the first night; you would have saved money, and we would have avoided receiving a two-star review.
2) Our Refund Policy: Although we are under no obligation to do so, we understand that situations like yours can happen. For this reason, we always offer a refund if we are able to resell the cancelled bed to another guest, simply because we don't think it's fair to earn twice from the same bed. Unfortunately, in your case, we were unable to resell it.
3) Availability & Timing: During the three nights you had booked, we always had one bed left unsold, as shown in the screenshot of our booking calendar which I sent you. While it is true that your reservation remained active for only a few hours, those hours were not overnight, as you stated. They were during the afternoon and evening of the 16th, a few hours before the start of the reservation, which is actually when many guests make their reservations. Had two friends wanted to book together during that time, the platform would have shown only one available bed because yours was still blocked. As a result, they would not have been able to book with us. Many reservations are made just one or two days before check-in, which is precisely why the platform has this cancellation policy—a practice that is common among the majority of hostels around the world.
4) Review Integrity: I didn't particularly appreciate your suggestion that we refund an additional night's stay in exchange for changing your review from two stars to five. To us, that comes across as an attempt to negotiate a review, and that's not something we are willing to do. We believe reviews should reflect genuine experiences, not financial arrangements.
My only suggestion for the future would be to always take a quick look at the cancellation policy before confirming a booking. It can save a lot of disappointment if unexpected plans come up.
As I mentioned during our conversation, if you ever decide to visit us in the future, we'd be happy to welcome you—and the BBQ will be on us as an additional gesture of goodwill. I’m sure you'll enjoy both the island and the atmosphere at our hostel much more than this experience suggests.
Kind regards,
Alessandro
El mejor hostel de toda la vida
The best hostel I’ve ever stayed! Super nice and friendly staff, a lot of fun activities, amazing structure with swimming pool, but more than all, I’ve found a second family. 🫶🏼
Can’t wait to come back!
Uživala sam u svakom trenutku provedenom s divnim ljudima. Toliko sam zahvalna i inspirirana.
