Esta reseña va en nombre de mi pareja y su prima que pasaron unos días en Tarifa y se alojaron en dicho hostel, que les hice yo la reserva.

Decepcionante es la palabra, tras ellas haber realizado el check out, sin haber nadie en las instalaciones. Que por lo general eran aceptables. Pero la situación que me comentaron, fue abusiva.
Las llamaron para preguntar por una toalla que no encontraban, por si se la habían “llevado. Le comentaron que al ser habitación privada, solo se incluía una toalla por persona. Que estuviesen agradecidas de que no se los cobró las otras dos toallas que pedimos para el pelo. Y aún así, me intentaron cobrar 10 euros por una toalla que se le había manchado dos puntos de maquillaje. INCREÍBLE.

Entiendo que puedan existir normas sobre el cuidado del material, pero este tipo de cargos desproporcionados por algo mínimo, es excesivo y poco razonable. Además, no hubo una actitud comprensiva ni voluntad de diálogo por parte del personal, lo que empeoró aún más la experiencia.

Este tipo de políticas generan una sensación de desconfianza hacia el cliente y empañan la estancia. Recomendaría a futuros huéspedes revisar bien las condiciones antes de alojarse aquí ya que sus normas distan mucho de una realidad del uso de una prenda de secado como puede ser una toalla, que por cierto su coste es inferior al lavado.

This review is written on behalf of my partner and her cousin, who spent a few days in Tarifa and stayed at this hostel, which I booked for them.

“Disappointing” is the word. After they checked out, there was no one at the premises. Overall, the facilities were acceptable, but the situation they described to me was abusive. They were called and asked about a missing towel, as if they might have “taken” it. They were told that since it was a private room, only one towel per person was included, and that they should be grateful they were not charged for the two additional towels we requested for their hair. Even so, they tried to charge me 10 euros for a towel that had two small makeup stains. UNBELIEVABLE.

I understand that there may be rules regarding the care of property, but this type of disproportionate charge for something so minor is excessive and unreasonable. Additionally, there was no understanding attitude or willingness to engage in dialogue from the staff, which made the experience even worse.

These kinds of policies create a sense of distrust toward the customer and spoil the stay. I would recommend future guests carefully review the conditions before staying here, as their rules are far removed from the reality of using an item like a towel, which, by the way, costs less to wash than what they are trying to charge.

Es la segunda vez que me alojó en La Cocotera para teletrabajar. Todas las instalaciones estan preparadas al detalle para que no te falte de nada( pantallas, wifi , cafe, sillas de escritorio). Siempre acabas creando amistades si vas solo y es una buena oportunidad para hacer nerworking. Las propietarias son muy trabajadoras y cuidan que todo este limpio. Gracias

I stayed here for 10 days but it could have easily been many more. The beds are comfortable, the terrace is relaxed and has beautiful views of Africa, the kitchen has everything you need, the co working space is fantastic, the vibe attracts a good crowd and the staff who work there are all so friendly and have great energy. It was a pleasure - thank you for having me and I look forward to returning!

Very kind and welcoming staff—both the volunteers and the owner make you feel right at home. For the price, it’s easily one of the best places to stay for a couple of nights. I originally came for kitesurfing but ended up doing some coworking as well, which worked out perfectly.

Of course, a lot depends on the people around you—and I got lucky. Great crowd, interesting conversations, a nice mix of coworking, good food, and some fun evenings. I’ll definitely be back soon. 😉
