Großer Unterschied im Service – Meidet „The Compass“, geht lieber ins The Columbus
Mein Start in Las Palmas war schwierig: Im The Compass Hostel wurde ich sehr arrogant, abwertend und unfreundlich empfangen. Man war überhaupt nicht hilfsbereit bei der Platzsuche.
Zum Glück bin ich danach im The Columbus Hostel gelandet. Der Mitarbeiter Lukas war die Rettung für mich. Ich war müde und besorgt, aber Lukas war zu 100 % freundlich und hat mir sofort alle Sorgen genommen. Er hat mir alles ausführlich gezeigt (Küche, Duschen, Wäscheräume) und dafür gesorgt, dass ich schnell und gut unterkomme.
Vielen Dank an Lukas für diesen großartigen Service! Eine klare Empfehlung für das The Columbus Hostel.

Hice una reservación para hospedaje unos días en este sitio virtual. Por distintas razones, tuve que cambiar mi fecha de reserva, lo que fue imposible por las siguientes razones: 1.- el número de teléfono no lo contestan NUNCA (ni siquiera sé si era real) 2.- los correos electrónicos no los responden JAMÁS y, 3.- NO EXISTE ningún medio con qué comunicarse con este sitio. Se quedaron con mi dinero de la manera más descarada y sin ninguna vergüenza. NO LO RECOMIENDO EN LO ABSOLUTO, porque no genera seguridad.

Very disappointing experience regarding payments and refunds.
I was charged incorrectly and spent weeks trying to resolve the issue. I kept receiving different explanations, but no actual solution and no refund confirmation.
Customer support and payment handling were extremely unprofessional. I never got the refund I was promised. Be careful and keep proof of every payment.
I also have to say that the staff and volunteers working there were very friendly.

El Hostel es genial, tiene una energía súper buena, además es limpio y moderno. El rooftop es una maravilla e invita a que los huéspedes compartan y se conozcan. Una cosa a destacar: la atención que nos ha brindado CARLOS, el manager encargado que nos atendió. Muy amable y simpático, explica muy bien y nos ayudó a tener la mejor estancia en Canarias. Gracias por todo, Carlos!!! Eres el mejor!

Un peu crado mais bon, à ce prix là, on s'attend pas à du luxe. Et les douches fonctionnent.

I stayed here for three nights as a solo traveler for a weekend trip. The volunteer staff were kind and welcoming, the facilities were kept pretty clean, and the rooftop was a very nice place to spend time. There are I think 8 rooms of people, including the volunteers’ room, 4 bathrooms, and I believe 5 showers. I didn’t have to wait in line for the bathroom or shower because people were getting ready to leave or go to bed at pretty different times. I would definitely recommend earplugs and a sleep eye mask because the lights are automatic in the hallway so they are always on when someone is entering the room at night. I was on the top bunk of a three-person bunk, and I was in the Atlas room, with 6 people total. I see some reviews mentioning bed bugs, but I didn’t have that experience. They either took care of that issue, or they just weren’t in my room lol. Didn’t hear anyone from other rooms complaining about it either, though. Every Friday night they do a family style dinner for 4 euros, and I didn’t get there in time but people seemed to like it. The staff does planned outings to the beach or things like that. Pretty great experience overall. I did see a small cockroach in the kitchen, but it’s a lot of people using one kitchen and not everyone is going to leave it spotless, so I don’t really hold that against them. I think roaches are pretty common on the island anyway. I would definitely stay again if I were in Las Palmas.

Stayed one night . It wasn’t clean and when I got there flies everywhere!!! Didn’t think people were friendly either . Bed didn’t feel clean either

Excelente hotel, especialmente por los voluntarios que trabajan ahí. Totalmente recomendable para volver siempre en la isla. Está cerca de todo. Me encanta la terraza y las actividades que hacen también.

Desde que llegué fui muy bien atendido , exelente ubicación y la manager Alessia como los voluntarios SIEMPRE atentos a todos los huéspedes con sus necesidades o consultas!!!
