Hostel Tenerife has super amazing vibes. I love the looks of the hostel and it felt really like home. The owner is super kind and wants to help you if you need something. He even gave me a little gas bottle for free since I was looking for one for my hike. I had an amazing time. Definitely recommend!

Check-in unkompliziert, sehr nettes Personal (konnte kurzfristig das Zimmer wechseln, wurde zum Abendessen im Hostel eingeladen). Die Einrichtung ist sehr sympathisch. Schließfächer sind vorhanden, habe sie allerdings nicht genutzt. Sehr nette andere Gäste, hatte viele schöne Gespräche und ruhige 3 Nächte dort.
Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert!

Me encantó! superando ampliamente mis expectativas, gracias principalmente al personal que nos atendió y a los pequeños detalles que tiene en cuenta el hostel para hacerlo más cómodo y acogedor.
El personal es súper agradable y nos dieron varias recomendaciones.
El hostel en sí tiene de todo, la cocina completísima y los baños también. La cama es cómoda, las habitaciones amplias y se está calentito. Todo muy limpio y ordenado.
Además, hay una terraza muy tranquila y con unas vistas muy bonitas.

The main issue during my stay was the conduct and organization of the host and management. During both nights I stayed at the hostel, my sleep was disrupted due to late-night entries into the shared dormitory and a lack of respect for guests’ privacy.

On the first night, two guests were checked into the dormitory after I and another guest were already asleep, despite the hostel stating a latest check-in time of 9:00 p.m.On the second night, around midnight, the host entered the dormitory with two guests, left, and then re-entered again after realizing there was no available bed. He then removed bed sheets from one of the beds in the dormitory to use them in another room, indicating a lack of sufficient clean bedding. These actions took place while guests were sleeping.

When I later provided feedback about being disturbed at night by unannounced room entries, the host did not acknowledge the concern, laughed at my feedback, and suggested that I should book a private room instead. The hostel manager responded in a similar manner, dismissing my experience and minimizing the issues I raised. From their responses, it was conveyed to me that guests in shared rooms should not expect privacy, uninterrupted sleep, or respectful boundaries, and that such disturbances were presented as acceptable simply because this is a hostel.

Other guests appeared uncomfortable raising issues with the host. One guest mentioned being reluctant to report a blocked shower drain, which resulted in water accumulating during use. The other guest was too afraid to ask for a fresh towel.

What is more, the condition of the facilities is poor. The hostel appears old and in need of renovation. Cleanliness was a concern: the bathrooms were not properly maintained, and the dormitory room had a strong unpleasant odor, like vomits mixed with chlorine. Additional problem was that in the room I stayed in, the window was difficult to open. Three guests attempted to open it without success, making it hard to ventilate the room despite the smell.

I also observed that after one guest left the dormitory, the bed linens were not changed before the bed was reassigned to another guest.

Due to these circumstances, I chose to leave the hostel early, although I had originally booked four nights. This resulted in the loss of prepaid nights and additional costs for alternative accommodation. I attempted to depart without conflict; however, further comments from the host were made that I found inappropriate.

Additionally, at check-in, the host insisted on taking photo of my passport. He sends the ID/passport photos through WhatsApp to unknown recipient. This raises concerns regarding security of handling personal data and is a further example of lack of professionalism and lack of common sense.

I travel frequently and have visited over 40 countries, staying in a wide range of hostels. Based on this experience, this accommodation ranked among the least satisfactory I have encountered. During nearly two weeks on Tenerife, my experiences elsewhere were consistently professional and positive. Unfortunately, this hostel did not meet those standards. I recommend booking other accommodation instead and saving yourself the hassle and stress.

Aun no entiendo como una empresa tan grande como booking.com no puede mirar primero el lugar antes de poner este tipo de establecimientos en su página.
La limpieza deja mucho que desear, alli todo el mundo andaba descalzo y no es ni un hostal. Lo pone muy claro en la puerta "Albergue".
Como mismo entre salí. ESPERO SU REEMBOLSO ÍNTEGRO.
Los baños son a compartir y su limpieza es nula.
Puedo entender que si voy de mochilera y solo vengo de paso... que una se pueda adaptar un día. Pero no es mi caso.
Por favor no engañen a la gente de este modo! Pongan que es un albergue no un hostel.. y sobre todo mejoren la limpieza que huele al entrar a podrido.

Horrible. Escribo este comentario desde el insomnio que me produce el ruido del aseo junto a mi habitación.

El check in está en booking a partie de las 6 pm el encargado llegó a las 8.

Le consulte por mail si podia cambiar de habitación al llegar. Me dijo que si y cuando llegue me dijo que ya la reservo. Completa falta de etica laboral.

3 dias recorriendo tenerife acampando en la playa. Hoy queria descanzar. Me tome un autobús de 1.3 para llegar aquí. Y me voy mas cansado de lo que llegue.

Plus. No hay conexiones suficientes ni en buen estado.

Impotencia de sufrir la desconsideración general del encargado.

Una lastima podria ser un gran albergue.

Dejare mi experiencia en booking y las organizaciones de defenza al consumidor pertinentes.

Espero que como Local Guide mi opinión llame a la reflexión.

Es un hostel agradable y la relación calidad-precio es ciertamente buena. No es demasiado grande y a nosotros por ejemplo nos tocó una habitación de cuatro camas (dos literas) con suficiente espacio. El número de baños nos pareció suficiente tambien pero allí es donde tuvimos una pequeña observación - en nuestra opinión las cortinas en la ducha deberían estar más cortas por no arrastrarse por el suelo y así poner aún mas estrecho el espacio bajo la ducha. Tambien por alguna razón desconocida parecia que el agua era o bien fría o demasiado caliente, pero imposible de regular.||A pesar de esas observaciones, volveríamos al hostel en otra ocasión.

Si buscas un hostal baratísimo prescindiendo de grandes lujos llevado por gente muy maja en la Orotava, este es tu lugar. Solo estuvimos una noche y fue del todo correcto. Recomendado para mochileros.

We had the opportunity to stay at Hostel Tenerife in March. It sits in a historic part of town with narrow cobblestone streets. It doesn’t feel like you are in the USA for sure. Manfred, the owner, is multilingual and was very welcoming, making it seem like he had been awaiting us like an old friend. The hostel itself is a big rambling house with an open air courtyard. It is not a luxury hotel; it’s a hostel with various people changing out every day or two and rooms off the hallways. The rooms are colorful and nice enough. It feels a lot more like you are living in La Orotava than just a tourist. From the rooftop you have a wonderful view of the ocean although you are well up the side of the volcano and not really in walking distance of the water. ||The town of La Orotava sits on the side of the volcano and has some beautiful gardens and restaurants. It you are looking for something a little busier, it is a fairly short drive down towards the water to get to Puerto de la Cruz which sits right on the ocean. It was a great deal and certainly a place I would stay again.

Os recomiendo este lugar si estáis buscando algo barato y sencillo para estar como en casa y conocer gente de otros países. |Solo llegar Manfred nos recibió con los brazos abiertos, es austriaco pero habla perfecto el castellano. Nos mostró el hostel y nos acomodó al momento. Luego nos explicó toda la logística del viaje gua guas sitios clave.. como llegar al teide donde comer comida canaria... |Un buen sitio para poder estar como en casa al estilo canario. Nos fue perfecto poder cocinar sin problemas, el hostel tiene una cocina con todo lo necesario. Se duerme muy tranquilo, tiene una azotea para tomar el sol y un patio interior donde están las duchas y lavabos. |Recomendado!!
