I have a good night sleep. The location is perfect which is inside the old town. Next to a yummy cake cafe, and not far from a yummy Ramen restaurant.
The service is good, and allow me to check in earlier. Mr Guan tried to allocated the same sex to stay together, which is a plus point.
The bed is clean and a liner is provided. There are partition sliding door for different section try to minimise the noise.
The locker is good. Big enough and next to my bed. Easy access.
There is a lift which allows a single person with luggage bag to move to higher floor.
Bathroom / toilet is clean.
Wifi function well. No speed issues.
Pantry is clean too.
A nightmare for pilgrims
More like a spring break party hostel
If you have finished your Camino and expect even a minimum level of rest, do not stay here.
It seems the high ratings come from Family, Friends, or Fools, because any serious traveler would see the glaring issues. If you enjoy the chaotic, boundary-free atmosphere of a bachelor party in Amsterdam, Prague, or Barcelona, you’ll love it.
If you want to sleep, go elsewhere.
• The "Strobe" Effect: There is no curfew and no boundaries. Drunk people stumble in all night, triggering poorly placed motion-sensor lights that blink like a strobe into the dorm until dawn and the first pilgrims leaving.
• Structural & Safety Hazards: The floor shakes with every step, vibrating the beds. The top bunks are dangerous; the ceiling is so low you cannot sit up, and the wooden beams are sharp enough to cut your head. It is almost impossible to even tuck in your sheets.
• Overcrowded & Cramped: There is zero room between the rows of beds. You are packed in like sardines with no space to breathe or organize your gear.
• Zero Privacy / Grossly Inadequate Facilities: Having only one toilet and one shower per gender for 32 beds is ridiculous. Furthermore, there is no real privacy or separation between the men’s and women’s sections.
• Suffocating Atmosphere: There is absolutely no air or ventilation in the rooms, and the mattresses are incredibly uncomfortable.
This place rides on its location and fake hype. For a real pilgrim, it is a disaster.
P.S. Be warned: the lockers require a €2 coin. The reception won't tell you this at check-in, so you’ll likely have to hike back down three floors to get change once you realize it.
Very nice hostel, very good location.
Albergue muy centrico, con camas muy buenas y buenos servicios
Muy céntrico. Bien dotado y personal amable.
I dont know whose idea it was to put an extremely bright lamp that is on a sensor in a hostel room?! Would recommend the staff to change this. Expect to wake up anytime someone uses the toilet during the night or wakes up early for a flight. Also only 1 toilet/shower.. location is lovely
Rooms can be a bit cramped and beds have no curtains so bear that in mind. Otherwise the beds were alright (you do need to put the sheets on yourself) with some roller doors to separate certain bunks from the rest of the room for little bit of privacy. You are quite close to other peoples beds so if there’s multiple people trying to get to lockers or get to their bunks it can get a bit congested.
The location is quite nice, it’s close to lots of restaurants or cute cafes and bakery’s. Also very close to the Cathedral de Santiago so it’s quite useful for those on the pilgrimage, it’s also near a very nice garden that was very lovely to take a stroll around. The maze of streets makes it quite nice to just explore the old town and they all connect with somewhere so it’s hard to get lost entirely.
Bathroom was alright, it didn’t have many toilets and only two showers but they were clean and showers had good pressure so you could actually have a good shower. There’s not really a common area other than the kitchen downstairs which is a little small.
Personally i quite liked it, as long as you’ve got earbuds and an eye mask when sleeping so noise and lights don’t disturb you too much
The perfect stay. The location is A* - directly in the historic centre. The staff are professional, friendly, and they do speak English for those of us that are linguistically enept 😃. The cleanliness was superb, the room was bright m, and the bathroom large. The WiFi worked and the lockers were big enough for very large bags. They have free luggage storage too and allowed me to check-in early. There is a nice kitchen and common area downstairs as-well. Everything was perfect. Would 110% recommend 💫
Easily the worst albergue experience of the entire Frances Way. People coming in drunk all night long smashing and crashing, lights coming on all night no curfew. The design of the place is deliberately awful - my bunk was positioned next to the toilets with zero partition, so you could hear people going to the toilet all night and slamming doors. The place was stuffy and absolutely stank. I did not get a single wink off sleep. Dreadful place. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
