This place has everything one needs on the Camino: a clean bed, a hot shower, hand washing facilities, a close, and a functional kitchen (albeit with no real silverware). It’s amazingly situated along the Camino and close to town for any tourist visits during the day. The couple running it are absolutely lovely and are very accommodating and hospitable… I unfortunately can’t say that for the rest of the town folk as I witnessed a couple xenophobic situations.

There was no Albuergue for me the night before, so I walked to Almandralejo (its not on the camino), from there I headed to Merida and I am a fast walker. So I arrive and its completo at 13.45. I ended up paying 88 euros for the cheapest hotel.
What can I say? The spirit of the camino on Via de la Plata is dead in the south. Nobody cares about us, its all about money as usual.

PS: majority of pilgrims takes bus and those that really walk are left in the street. This is not a camino, this is pure sadness. The hospitaliero wasnt even there. Just a note on the door: Completo!

1 wc/ douche pour les hommes, idem pour les femmes pour 18 couchages c'est peu... cuisine avec 1 seule table et 2 chaises...seulement 1 micro ondes.

Quite a contrast to some of the more modern alberges on the VDLP camino. Not to say it’s bad. It does share the lack of heating that seems quite common. It makes up for creatures comforts with a good location in the city. But don’t count on making much for dinner here. Only a partially functional microwave. No complaints though. Very glad to have a bed for the night.
