El lugar es austero, antiguo y las camas no son lo mejor del mundo. Pero tienes techo, cama, ducha, ropa lavada y secada, cena y desayuno, en un donativo responsable donde todo lo gestionan voluntarios que lo hacen con todo el amor por ayudar a otros peregrinos. Asi que por eso, por la hospitalidad, el trato recibido, todo lo que dan, y que ya quedan muy poquitos albergues así. Le doy 5 estrellas, y lo recomiendo 100% si quieres vivir una experiencia de compartir con otras personas y sentir el verdadero espíritu peregrino. Gracias por todo.

Un posto meraviglioso, il vero spirito del cammino e dell'accoglienza al pellegrino. Un servizio eccellente per un'esperienza umile come il cammino; accoglienza calorosa, letti con piumone e lenzuola di cotone, ambienti puliti ogni giorno, cena e colazione sostanziosissimi e vari!

Per chi non conosce l'esperienza del donativo, é il caso di provarla ;) il vero spirito del cammino si vede nella cena comunitaria, nella mancanza di scopo di lucro, nel piccolo paese e nel fiumiciattolo per raffreddare i piedi dopo la giornata lunga.

Mi raccomando che non si approfitti del luogo, donativo non significa gratis!!!

In juni 2026 had ik het genoegen om hier een nacht te verblijven. Het was een waar plezier om hier te verblijven als Belg en meteen in mijn eigen taal te kunnen praten met de eigenaar van de albergue. De jonge vrijwilligers doen er alles aan om deze unieke albergue te onderhouden en 's avond een heerlijke maaltijd te maken. Ook de vele snuisterijen in de albergue dragen bij tot de ontspannen sfeer. Daarom stuur ik binnenkort ook eens een kleinigheidje op uit Gent om bij al de rest te zetten.

Actually kind of sorry to give a bad review bcs the Brazilian host was so nice, but we were kind of fooled by the good reviews. There is only one bathroom on the floor for pilgrims, toilet and shower together. The hygiene of the whole place is highly questionable and this is the main reason for the bad review. Extremely overpacked with things. The photos look much neater than in person. Your bunk bed will shake a lot if the person below/above you moves. Doors can't be properly closed and squeak, very easy to wake others up. I slept good bcs the bed is pretty comfy and I walked 30km that day, but it was my worst stay so far.

Thanks for the review, it can always be useful to receive feedback. It is true there is only one bathroom on the floor for the pilgrims, but there are signs indicating that if that bathroom is full, the toilet on the other floor can be used. We do clean the public spaces every day. If you find that the bathroom needs an extra touch, we can do so, no problem. That you can notice in the bunkbeds when somebody turns around in her/his sleep, does not only apply to the ones we have, but is fairly common, I would say. The house does indeed have a lot of decoration, most of which are memories from my travels around the world. If someone likes them or not, is a matter of taste. Many people happily do, They enjoy watching them and often I do get questions. Then, it is also important to mention that the place runs entirely on donations by pilgrims and does not have any governmental support. The hospitaleros here work hard to offer services to the pilgrims, such as a healthy meal in the evening, a full and varied breakfast in the morning, doing the laundry for the pilgrims, and attend to their concerns and questions. During the stay, this time there were hospitaleros from USA, Italy, Cuba, Argentina, and Hungary (nobody from Brazil this time) trying to give the pilgrims a nice and enjoyable stay. We do what we can with the means we have. In the majority of the cases we manage to do so, as can be read in other references on this platform, on sites for pilgrims and written in the notebook we have, as well as expressed orally. Cette auberge ne paye pas de mine de l’extérieur mais l’intérieur est magnifique. Le gérant et les bénévoles sont aux petits soins. Lits avec draps, dîner, petit dej et même machine faite par les bénévoles sur base de donation !
Ce fut la meilleure albergue dans laquelle je suis restée sur le camino.

Thanks for the feedback. On the pilgrims’ floor there is indeed only one bathroom, but there are signs indicating that the bathroom on the other floor can be used as well when the one for the pilgrims is occupied.

Absolut empfehlenswert! Die Menschen geben sich so viel Mühe, dass man sich wohl fühlt. Hier würde ich wieder schlafen!

Leider nur ein Bad, aber das war in Ordnung.

Really unique donation-based hostel on the Camino Primitivo. The staff are volunteers and very helpful. The building is quirky and both lunch and dinner are provided for. My only qualm is the lack of heat, though we were provided with thick blankets!

Llegar a este albergue me hizo agradecer el haber tomado la ruta de Pola de Allande. Una estancia mágica por la bonita vibra que tiene el lugar, así como por lo cuidado y acogedor que es el espacio. Tanto el propietario como los voluntarios me hicieron sentir como en casa.
